Truckee River Program
The Truckee River Program (TRP) is an alternative educational program within the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD) that serves youth in grades 9-12 who have been referred for various educational reasons. Established in 2004, the program was initially operated by the Placer County Office of Education (PCOE), and then, at the start of the 2022-2023 school year, TTUSD took over the program's operations.
Truckee River Program is a self-contained program located on the ground of the Regional Park in Truckee. Students served are referred to the program by the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) on a stipulated expulsion or for disciplinary reasons. TRP aims to work with students so they can successfully return to their home high school. The program offers various A-G required courses in addition to robust social-emotional support services, allowing students to earn a diploma.
Truckee River is not a "self-referring" program, but for any inquiries regarding TRP, please contact site administrator, Jeff Santos, at (530) 582-2640.
